I am in my second year as the Chair of the West Kootenay Permaculture Co-Op. I am deeply interested in supporting initiatives that focus on growing community resiliency, our local economy, projects with a permaculture interest, and those that connect eaters to real food and the people who grow it. I bring a visionary approach to all projects. As an experienced Graphic and Permaculture designer, I have the skills to build a beautiful event while delivering creative marketing messages and bringing together community. I have facilitated a number of large public events, drawing on World Café and Open Space techniques, and recently participated in a inspiring Strategic Doing training session.
I have designed, produced and marketed numerous community development projects in the Kootenay’s; Farm Food Fork: an annual local food forum, kootenayfood.com a local food web resource, Homesteading 101: the essential skill building educational series, The Slocan Valley Food Hub, Pickle Palooza: an annual preservation festival.
Currently I am spearheading the building and development of a Community Food Space in the heart of the Slocan Valley, with the help of a dedicated steering committee and the organizational partnerships of WKPC and WEGCSS. Stay tuned for the evolution of this significant undertaking!
